The multiplayer (local or Wi-Fi) is quite good too, as you race to clear your board first while sending attack items to the other player. It will take quite a while to finish this game off. Points won in the game can be used to customize the. Arkanoid DS is a terrific update of the arcade classic. Taitos other remake of a classic franchise, Arkanoid DS, came out the same day as Space Invaders Extreme, and for the same price too. Different modes of play provide unique challenges including Clear with 140 levels to complete and Quest mode that sets different rules for clearing each round. That said, the Paddle Controller makes it so much fun that I kind of don't care. Arkanoid DS is a 're-imagining' of Taito's 1986 coin-op title of the same name, which was an excellent Breakout clone that shook up the slightly anemic ball/bat/brick formula by adding several new. ARKANOID DS updates the classic block-busting gameplay of the 1986 original, with the Vaus vessel, balls and bricks all still intact. Hopefully things get more difficult in the later stages, or Quest Mode's challenges are tougher, because so far Arkanoid DS is a piece of cake. The Nintendo DS version can also use the Nintendo DS Paddle Controller which was originally designed for Arkanoid on the DS, or the DS Rumble Pack, adding force. The combination of a very wide paddle and very narrow stages means that it's almost harder not to hit the ball. I haven't been challenged in the slightest, thus far. My favorite is the one that makes the ball pass straight through bricks when it takes them out, rather than rebounding.
